According to IMD reports several regions including parts of North Central and Western India are expected to face extreme heat conditions in the coming weeks. States like Rajasthan Gujarat Madhya Pradesh Uttar Pradesh and parts of Maharashtra are likely to experience temperatures above normal levels which may lead to serious health risks.

A heatwave is declared when temperatures rise significantly above the normal range and continue for several days. This year weather patterns such as reduced rainfall and dry winds are contributing to the early arrival of extreme heat. Experts believe climate change is also playing a major role in increasing the intensity and frequency of such conditions.

The impact of heatwaves is not limited to discomfort as it can directly affect health daily life and the economy. People may face dehydration heatstroke and fatigue while outdoor workers and farmers are at higher risk. Power consumption is also expected to increase due to higher use of air conditioners and coolers which may put pressure on electricity supply.

Authorities are advising people to take precautions such as avoiding direct sunlight during peak hours drinking plenty of water and wearing light clothing. Special care is being recommended for children elderly people and those with health conditions.
